
Pirates Travel to Texas for Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic

Lubbock, Texas – Seton Hall softball returns to action this weekend when they participate in the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic. The Pirates will play two games against both host institution Texas Tech as well as North Dakota before wrapping up the weekend with a single game against in-state rival Rutgers on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pirates split a Sunday doubleheader against Army last weekend in their first two home games of the 2023 season. Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) starred in both games, hitting a pinch-hit game-tying home run in game one before homering again in game two. Carr also pitched a one-hit shutout in the Pirates' game two victory on Sunday.

The Fighting Hawks have struggled to begin the season but are coming off their first win of the season on Tuesday at Lindenwood. The Pirates and Fighting Hawks have met just once before, a 6-4 Seton Hall win on February 10, 2019.

Sunday will be the 65th meeting between the Pirates and Scarlet Knights, with Seton Hall snapping an 11-game losing streak to Rutgers last season.
