Villanova, Pa. – The Seton Hall softball team suffered a 7-4 defeat to Villanova on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the weekend series.

Seton Hall is back on the diamond on Friday to kick off a three game series on the road at Georgetown.
How it Happened
- Katey Brennan (Yardley, Pa.) got things started for the Pirates with a three-run home run in the top of the first inning.
- Villanova would get one run back in the bottom of the first, but the Wildcats would leave the bases loaded in each of the first two innings against Kyra Kreuscher (Great River, N.Y.).
- In the fourth, Lauren Caye (Pittsburgh, Pa.) stepped in with two outs and nobody on and crushed a solo home run to center field to make it a 4-1 game.
- The Wildcats would tie things up with three runs in the fifth before taking the lead in the sixth on a three-run home run.
- Brennan's home run was the first of her career.
- Caye's homer was her second of the season, with the other being her walk-off home run against UIC last weekend.
- Kreuscher escaped a pair of bases loaded jams and left seven Villanova runners on base during her four innings of work.
