
Three Pirates Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors in 2023-24

South Orange, N.J. - Three members of the Seton Hall women's tennis team have been recognized by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for their academic prowess. Named CSC Div. I Academic All-District are graduate student Aina Plana Ventosa, junior Arabella Moen and sophomore Aili Hietala.
To be considered for Academic All-District, nominees must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher, be at least a sophomore academically and participate in at least 70 percent of a team's contests that included a team score, not including exhibitions.
Plana Ventosa is earning her Master of Arts degree in Professional Communication and Digital Media Arts this month after previously earning her undergraduate degree in Visual and Sound Media. She is coming off her best athletic performance of her career, having gone 14-6 in singles competition, including 13-3 in spring dual matches. She won 12 matches in a row to start the spring, won three matches against BIG EAST foes in the regular season and earned her first BIG EAST Championship win in the first round of the tournament.
Moen is now a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection, having also earned the honor last season. She is majoring in Information Technology Management and won eight singles matches on the season, including seven during the spring. She was solid at the No. 6 position, and she picked up two BIG EAST wins on the season, defeating her counterparts at Creighton and Providence.
Hietala is majoring in Marketing at Seton Hall and in her first season with the Pirates, she notched six singles wins on the year, including a solid victory over her opponent at Villanova for her first career BIG EAST win.
