Louisville, Ky. – Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) All-Mideast Region Second Team, the organization announced on Saturday. Carr receives an All-Region honor from the NFCA for the second straight season after she landed on the First Team in 2023.
Carr had another terrific season in the circle and at the plate in 2024, one which resulted in her earning an All-BIG EAST First Team distinction for the second straight season. The senior batted .303 on the season and hit a team-best 10 home runs, becoming the first Pirate since Alexis Walkden in 2017-18 to have back-to-back 10+ home run seasons. Carr, who started in all 50 games, ranked second on the team in OPS (1.008), RBI (32), total bases (87) and runs scored (35).
In the circle, Carr was her usual dominant self. She posted a 3.35 ERA over 144.1 innings of work on the season, striking out a team-high 119 batters. Her campaign in the circle was highlighted by throwing the 22nd no-hitter in program history on April 23 against Drexel, coming within one strike of a perfect game. Carr closed out the regular season in style, throwing five consecutive complete games and compiling an ERA of just 0.60 in those five outings.
The Pirates have now had at least one member of the NFCA All-Region team in three consecutive seasons for the first time since 2004-06. Seton Hall has now had 28 All-Region selections in its program history.
