Pirates Bow Out of BIG EAST Tournament

Providence, R.I. – The Seton Hall softball season came to an end on Thursday morning after a 9-0 defeat to Butler. The Pirates finish the season with an overall record of 27-23.
How it Happened
The Pirates were able to get the leadoff batter of the game on base via a walk to Lela Allen (Phoenix, Ariz.). However, she would be stranded as Butler starter Rylen Dyer was able to set down the next three hitters. The Bulldogs would then come to the plate and bring across the first run on an RBI double.
In the bottom of the second, Butler seemed poised to score again after working a one out walk. On a hit-and-run play, a line drive to right field found the glove of Taylor Hill (Little Falls, N.J.), who started the 9-3 double play.
In the third, Amber Johnson (Belfair, Wash.) singled into right field to give Seton Hall its second leadoff baserunner of the game. Johnson would be doubled off after a hard line drive was caught by the pitcher resulting in a double play. Butler would score four more runs in the third and again in the fourth to increase its lead.
