How It Happened (Game One
After spinning a two-run, complete game win in the opening game of the series against Villanova, Kelsey Carr returned to the circle looking to secure the series win over The Hall's BIG EAST foes. Through two frames, Carr was nothing short of dominant. After walking the opening batter, Carr retired five straight batters, including four straight with strikeouts, through two innings of play. Off the back of Carr's strong play in the circle, Olivia Gilbert stepped to the plate to open the bottom of the second. Amidst a career season, Gilbert drove the third pitch way over the left field wall to put The Hall up 1-0 through two innings

As the game reached its midpoint, both sides kept falling just short of scoring. That changed in the fourth inning, however, when the Pirates offense struck again. After a leadoff single, Andrea Perez drove home a run to expand The Hall's lead to 2-0 at the end of four innings.

Carr continued to cruise through the Wildcats lineup in the fifth inning aided by some supreme defensive plays, including a full-extension grab by Perez on a line out. While spinning a gem in the circle, Carr stepped to the plate in the bottom of the frame. On the opening pitch of the at-bat, she aided herself in the circle with a deep home run to centerfield, making it a 3-0 Seton Hall lead.
