NEW YORK, N.Y. – After a playing the hero on Senior Day with a walk-off single, Kelsey Carr's dominant weekend landed her a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday.
In a crucial BIG EAST matchup between the Pirates and the Butler Bulldogs, Carr's four hit, four RBI performance made the difference in The Hall's 6-5 extra innings win. Immediately after the Pirates went down 2-0, Carr tied the game with a mammoth two-run home run in the fourth inning to tie the game.
She would tied the game again at 4-4 one inning later on a one-out RBI double, but that would not be her biggest highlight of the day. With one out and the bases loaded in the eighth inning, Carr struck a single off the left field wall to give Seton Hall a much-needed 6-5 victory to keep the Pirates' postseason hopes alive.
Across the entire series, Carr slashed a team-leading .556/.667/1.333 with three runs scored, one double, two home runs and five RBI.
