SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella announced today the addition of University of Texas transfer Jordana Codio (Winter Garden, Fla.) to the program.Â
Â
Codio joins the Pirates after spending her first three collegiate years as a member of the University of Texas basketball program. She red-shirted her freshman year, so she will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Â
An athletic 6-foot-1 guard, Codio played in 24 games for the Final Four-bound Longhorns last season, averaging 1.5 points in 4.8 minutes per game. She had a season-high seven points and three rebounds against La Salle on Dec. 17. Codio hit a three-pointer against South Carolina in the National Semifinals last month. Codio has helped the Longhorns to a 94-19 record over the last three years.
Â
Codio was a force in high school, tabbed as the No. 67 recruit in the nation and the No. 11 guard overall according to ESPN W/HoopGurlz rankings. A McDonald's All-America Nominee in 2022, she averaged 22.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game over three years at American Heritage High School before transferring to Monteverde Academy for her senior campaign. Named to the Sun Sentinel 'Fab Five' team, Codio was a two-time Palm Beach County First-Team selection.
