Seton Hall alum Dan Solli joined Andreas Lindberg's staff at Seton Hall as the volunteer assistant coach in 2019.
In 2020, following one of the program's most successful seasons in which the Pirates captured their first BIG EAST Tournament Championship since 1991 and also made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005 advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals for only the second time in program history and first since 1988, Solli was honored as part of the East Region Coaching Staff of the Year and BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year. Solli worked with goalkeeper Andreas Nota who was honored as part of the All-BIG EAST Second Team and was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District team member. Under Solli's tutelage, Nota finished the 2020 campaign with the second-best Goals Against Average in program history at 0.85.
Solli has served as a seasonal staff coach with Red Bull New York in Harrison, New Jersey, since March 2012, implementing seasonal development plans for all teams, executing weekly training sessions and coaching teams in matches, while also completing analysis reports.
The return to the college ranks for Solli comes after he spent the 2014 and 2015 season as an assistant women's soccer coach at Fordham.
Before his time at Red Bull New York, Solli served as an assistant women’s soccer coach at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York, for the 2011 season, where he assisted with all aspects of the team and worked specifically with the goalkeepers. He also served as a goalkeeper coach for the Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club, directing and developing all youth goalkeeepers, 18 and under.
Solli holds U.S. Soccer Federation National “B”, “C”, and “D” licenses and holds State, Regional, and National Goalkeeping diplomas from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
In addition to coaching, Solli has been a certified referee for the Staten Island Youth Soccer League since 2004, and has been selected to referee US Soccer developmental academy matches and ODP Region 1 tournaments.
During his playing career, Solli played for the NPSL’s Brooklyn Italians from 2010-11, as well as for Roza FC (2009-10) and Union Latina SC (2009-10).
Solli is a 2010 graduate of Seton Hall University with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations.
