Seton Hall Baseball Defeats Rider, 10-2

The Pirates pounded out eight hits in the abbreviated game, including home runs by senior first baseman Alfie Critelli (Summit, NJ) and sophomore right fielder Jeff Miller (Springfield, NJ). Critelli hit his sixth home run of the season in the third inning, a 445-foot blast to center field. Miller slugged a grand slam in the Pirates four-run fourth inning.
Junior right-hander Mike Wren (Montvale, NJ) earned his second win of the season, allowing two hits while striking out three in 3.2 innings.
The Broncs (8-7) were led by third baseman Casey Long, who had a single and an RBI. Rider left-hander Robin Walsh fell to 1-2, allowing four runs in 2.2 innings.
Seton Hall has won nine of its last 10 games and will host St. Francis (NY) at 3 p.m. on March 23.
