Baseball Earns Series Sweep Over Georgetown

WASHINGTON, DC (April 2, 2000) -- The Seton Hall baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Georgetown with a 5-2 win over the Hoyas on April 2. The Pirates, who swept a doubleheader from Georgetown on April 1, improve to 17-8 overall and 4-2 in the BIG EAST.
Senior right-hander Damon Ponce de Leon (Demarest, NJ) went the distance for the Pirates, allowing only six hits and two runs, while striking out three. It was his first complete game and third win of the season.
Senior first baseman Alfie Critelli (Summit, NJ) had three hits, including his team-leading ninth home run of the season. Senior third baseman Ray Navarrete (Colts Neck, NJ) and junior shortstop Tony Calabrese (Riverside, CT) had two hits apiece.
Seton Hall will travel to New Haven, CT, for a 3 p.m. game against Yale on April 4.
