Navarrete Named First Team All-Region

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ (June 12, 2000) -- Seton Hall baseball standout Ray Navarrete (Colts Neck, NJ) has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) 2000 Division I East Region All-Star Team.Navarrete, a senior third baseman, was named an ABCA East Region First Team All-Star, the best offensive season of his career. He finished the season with 17 doubles, three home runs and 43 RBI., while leading the team with a .393 batting average and three triples. One of the best contact hitters in school history, Navarrete struck out only 11 times in 191 at-bats. He helped lead Seton Hall to a second-place finish in the BIG EAST, batting .369 with six doubles and 12 RBI in 25 conference games.
Navarrete ranks first in Seton Hall history with 51 career doubles and has been hit by a pitch a school-record 38 times.
