
Golf Ties for Fifth at MacDonald Cup

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Seton Hall golf team tied for fifth place at the MacDonald Cup. The Pirates shot a 299 on Sunday for a 36-hole total of 603. Sophomore David Sampson (Warren, R.I.) fired a +2 (74) on the final day to finish tied for 29th place.
Senior Kyle Morris (Powell, Ohio) tied for 33rd after a +3 (74) round. Sophomore Ryan Castanet (McDonald, Pa.) struggled after his solid performance on Saturday, shooting a +12 (83) to tie for 54th with freshman Colin Van Es (Granger, Ind.). Van Es improved his first round score by four strokes, after finishing a +4 (75). Junior John Zur (Glenview, Ill.) tied for 68th place after shooting a +6 (77).
The Pirates return to action at the Big 5 Classic on Oct. 13-14 in Philadelphia, Pa.
