
Baseball To Host Third Annual Rawlings Strike Out Cancer Tournament

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - On Friday, March 18 through Sunday, March 20 the Seton Hall Pirates baseball team will host their third annual Rawlings Strike Out Cancer Tournament as they welcome Fordham, NJIT, and Stony Brook to Owen T. Carroll Field on the campus of Seton Hall University. As the sponsor, Rawlings will be donating the official 2011 Strike Out Cancer T-shirts which will be worn by the four teams during batting practice.
Each team is scheduled to play three games throughout the weekend including a doubleheader for Stony Brook on Saturday and two games for NJIT on Sunday. Friday's games are scheduled to start at noon and 4:00 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday have first pitches of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Seton Hall will play the first game on Friday and the second game on Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to Rawlings, representatives from the American Cancer Society will be on hand with information to help increase cancer awareness. Also, Seton Hall and ACS will have merchandise for sale including the 2011 Strike Out Cancer T-shirt and hat along with raffles for prizes. One lucky fan will leave Sunday's game with an official Seton Hall Pirates white batting helmet signed by the 2011 squad. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
