
Baseball Takes Three-Game Winning Streak To Villanova

SETON HALL TRAVELS TO VILLANOVA: Seton Hall rides a season-high three-game winning streak into Villanova for a three-game set as they begin the BIG EAST portion of the 2011 schedule on Friday.
Game 18: at Villanova - Fri. Mar. 25 - 3:15 p.m. - Villanova Ballpark
Game 19: at Villanova - Sat. Mar. 26 - 1:15 p.m. - Villanova Ballpark
Game 20: at Villanova - Sun. Mar. 27 - 12:15 p.m. - Villanova Ballpark
SETON HALL ALL-TIME AGAINST VILLANOVA: The Pirates hold a winning-percentage of .642 by winning 68 of the 106 games played between the team dating back to 1973.
LAST TIME THEY PLAYED: The Pirates lost two-of-three back on Easter Weekend in 2009. After winning game one of a doubleheader on Thursday, April 9, the Hall dropped game two and lost the rubber match on Saturday, April 11. The teams did not face each other in 2010.
ON DECK: The Pirates will host Rider and Princeton at Owen T. Carroll Field before beginning a three-game weekend series against in-state conference rival Rutgers in Piscataway.
APPROACHING 1,900 WINS
As a program, the Seton Hall Pirates begin this weekend with 1,887 wins dating back to the 1863 season. They are 13 wins shy of the 1,900 mark.
CONTINUING ON THE CAREER PATH
A.J. Rusbarsky picked up seven assists last weekend to increase his career-record total of assists in a Pirates uniform to 572. He broke the 15-year old record of 489 set by Mike Moriarty in 1995 on May 8, 2010 in a, 9-7, win against Pittsburgh at Owen T. Carroll Field.
STRIKE OUT CANCER DONATIONS
Although the weekend tournament is over, fans can still donate to the American Cancer Society by visiting the baseball page at www.shupirates.com. Also, Seton Hall Athletics will be selling the white hats with the pink "SH" - same as the ones worn by the players and coaches throughout the weekend - for $30. All proceeds will go to ACS.
STRIKE OUT CANCER TOURNAMENT RAISES OVER $3,000
During the weekend of the third annual Rawlings Strike Out Cancer Tournament, Seton Hall Baseball raised over $3,000 in donations, merchandise sales, and raffles which will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
