CLEARWATER, FLA. - The Seton Hall baseball team will play top-seeded Connecticut Thursday evening in the winner's bracket of the 2011 BIG EAST Tournament at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.
Connecticut, who enter the tournament ranked 15th in the country, defeated #8 Notre Dame, 4-2, Wednesday evening to advance to the bracket to play the Hall. The winner of the game between the Huskies and the Pirates will earn a bye to the semi-finals on Saturday. The loser will play an elimination game Friday afternoon.
Seton Hall did not play Connecticut during the 2011 season. Connecticut, who was picked to win the 2011 Regular-Season Championship in the preseason conference coaches poll, did just that with a 22-5 conference mark.
First pitch for the game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
