Gilbert Named NJCBA Division I Pitcher of the Week

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - A day after being named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week, Seton Hall sophomore Brian Gilbert (Toms River, N.J.) was named New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division I Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
The right-hander threw a complete-game, shutout while scattering just four hits in Seton Hall's 2-0 victory over Notre Dame, Saturday at Owen T. Carroll Field. The victory provided a series sweep for Seton Hall and improved the team's record to 5-4 in conference play. It's the first complete-game of Gilbert's career and his six strikeouts were also a career-high. Gilbert improved to 2-3 on the season and lowered his ERA to 3.34.
The NJCBA named Fairleigh Dickinson's Ryan Kresky its Division I Player of the Week and Joe Borelli, also of FDU, its Rookie of the Week.
The Pirates will return to the diamond today (April 10) when they travel to Princeton to take on the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. Seton Hall will return to Owen T. Carroll Field on Wednesday, April 11, it hosts Wagner.
