PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior Josh Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST's Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. Prevost was dominant in his start last week against Connecticut. The 6-foot-8 right-handed starting pitcher shut out the Huskies for 7.1 innings, while scattering just three hits against a strong offensive lineup. Prevost’s effort earned him the victory as Seton Hall went on to defeat UConn, 3-0. Prevost is now 2-1 on the season and has a team-best 2.05 ERA. It’s already the fourth time a Pirate has earned honor roll distinction this season. Jon Prosinski (Skillman, N.J.) has earned the recognition twice, while Zack Granite (Staten Island, N.Y.) earned it once. Louisville’s Ty Young was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Rutgers’ Tyler Gebler was named Pitcher of the Week. Those joining Prevost on the Honor Roll include: Georgetown’s Danny Poplawski, Notre Dame’s Adam Norton, Pittsburgh’s Ethan Mildren and Rutgers’ Nick Favatella. Prevost and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Tuesday, April 2 when they host Rider in a mid-week matchup at Owen T. Carroll Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
