Prosinski made his Blueclaws debut on Friday night with five innings of one-run baseball in a no decision. He surrendered just three hits, while striking out four batters and walking one. The former Pirates ace was drafted in the 10th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on June 7 and was originally assigned to the franchise's Class A Short Season affiliate, the Williamsport Crosscutters. FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, home of the Blueclaws, is only about 44 miles from Prosinski's home in Skillman.
After a slow start, Prosinski made the most of five starts in Williamsport, pitching to a 3.86 ERA with 14 strikeouts and just three walks in 16.1 innings pitched. He gave up just four earned runs over his last four starts, including a sparkling outing on July 8 when he pitched five shutout innings, while scattering just four hits and no walks.
One of the greatest pitchers in Seton Hall history, Prosinski made a school record 57 career starts with the Pirates over four seasons. A two-time BIG EAST First Team selection, no pitcher in Seton Hall history has thrown more innings or struck out more batters, and only one pitcher has won more games. Appointed to the All-BIG EAST First Team for a second straight year, he was named NJCBA Pitcher of the Year and Seton Hall's Senior Male Athlete of the Year.
