NEW YORK, N.Y. - Freshman Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) was named BIG EAST Men's Golfer of the Week for a second straight week on Thursday.
Go led Seton Hall's charge up the standings in the final round of the Rutherford Intercollegiate last weekend. The freshman's 1-under-par, 70, helped Seton Hall make up 15 strokes and eight positions in the team standings to a second place team finish. The remarkable rookie year of Go continued as he finished second among 78 individual golfers with his fourth sub-par tournament of the year. Go registered a 3-under-par, 71-69-70-210 to finish three strokes behind the individual champion, Minnesota's Jose Mendez.
Go's four sub-par tournaments now ties him for third-most in Seton Hall history despite not having yet finished his freshman year. He's tied with newly inducted Seton Hall Athletics Hall of Famer Mike Costigan and trails only Eugene Smith (nine) and Kyle Morris (six).
Go has been Seton Hall's low scorer in eight of his first nine career tournaments.
Go and the rest of the Seton Hall men's golf team will complete the 2013-14 year with the 2014 BIG EAST Championship, April 27-29, in Okatie, S.C.
