
MGolf Opens the Spring at EY Match Play

DADE CITY, FLA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will open the 2015 spring season with the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play event, February 9-10, at Lake Jovita Golf Course.
The two-day event will consist of 54 holes of match play competition. Teams are seeded 1 through 8 based upon Golfstat rankings and then placed into a bracket. All teams are guaranteed three matches with losing teams from the first and second rounds continuing to compete in a consolation bracket. Each team match will consist of six individual matches. Lineup order for each team is based upon individual player GolfWeek rankings, with the top-rated player in the No. 1 position and so on.
Top-seeded Eastern Michigan will face #8 Florida Atlantic in round one, while #4 Seton Hall will take on #5 Ball State. The winners will face each other in round two, also on Monday. On the other side of the bracket #2 Miami University will face #7 Ohio University, while #3 Toledo plays #6 Dayton.
The eight teams will play on the par-72, 7,153-yard Lake Jovita South Course. The first two rounds will be played on Monday, February 9 with the final round on Tuesday, February 10.
Seton Hall will bring the following golfers to Dade City, Fla., in order of lineup:
1. Ryan Snouffer (Sparta, N.J.)
2. JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Calif.)
3. Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines)
4. Kevin O'Brien (Wexford, Pa.)
5. David Cha (Carrollton, Texas)
6. Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.)
Seton Hall is coming off a successful fall season, which saw three, top-5 finishes in six tournaments including a team championship at the Navy Fall Classic. The Pirates' 294.94 team scoring average in the fall was the lowest in seven years. Snouffer, Harper and Go all averaged under 75 strokes per round, with Snouffer averaging a team-best 72.75 in his first semester in South Orange.
