Prendergast Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Sophomore Zach Prendergast (Horsham, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Baseball Weekly Honor Roll for a second consecutive week on Monday.
On Friday, Prendergast made only his second collegiate start and pitched well in Seton Hall's 1-0 loss at USF. The right-hander pitched 7.1 innings and gave up just one earned run. The earned run was scored on a highly disputed balk call and became the only run scored in the game. Prendergast also struck out four and walked two.
Villanova's Todd Czinege was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Butler's Jeff Schank was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week. Those joining Prendergast on the Honor Roll include: Butler's Ryan Wojciechowski, St. John's Zach Lauricella and both Jake Kuzbel and Matt Smith of Georgetown.
Prendergast and the rest of the Pirates will be back in action on Tuesday, March 10 when they face Florida International as part of the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
