McCarthy Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall junior Shane McCarthy (Fair Haven, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
After a difficult start to the season, Shane McCarthy turned in a fine performance against Lehigh on Sunday. The right-hander allowed only two hits over five shutout innings and earned his first victory of the season. He also struck out three batters in Seton Hall's 3-0 win in the finale of the Strikeout Cancer Classic. McCarthy's performance ensured a perfect 3-0 week for Seton Hall.
Xavier's Conor Grammes was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. St. John's Sean Mooney was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week. Those joining McCarthy on the Honor Roll include: Butler's Jeff Schank, Creighton's Jeff Albrecht, Georgetown's Kevin Superko and Xavier's Zac Lowther.
