SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall baseball team left a season-high 15 men on base and dropped the series finale to Connecticut, 4-0, on Sunday.

The game was a pitchers' duel through five innings with Shane McCarthy (Fair Haven, N.J.) matching UConn's Mason Feole zero-for-zero, but the Huskies finally broke through with three runs in the top of the sixth inning. The first four UConn batters recorded hits, with Willy Yahn providing the big hit of the inning, a two-run double.

Seton Hall (11-10) left the bases loaded in both the sixth and seventh innings. The Pirates loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth, but weren't able to push across a run. They left two more on base in both the seventh and eighth innings.

Inside the Numbers:

McCarthy took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits over 5.1 innings pitched. He struck out a season-high seven batters and walked two.
Senior Anthony Pacillo (Lyndhurst, N.J.) pitched 1.2 hitless innings with two strikeouts.
Matt Fortin (Nashua, N.H.), Al Molina (Freehold, N.J.), Sebastiano Santorelli (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Matt Toke (Three Bridges, N.J.) recorded hits for the Pirates.
Molina reached base a team-high three times, going 1-for-3 with two walks.
Senior Mikael-Ali Mogues (New York, N.Y.) walked twice.
Seton Hall left 15 men on base, while Connecticut left seven.

News & Notes:

The Pirates drew 10 walks today, the second-most this season.
This was only the third time this season that the Pirates didn't record an extra-base hit.
This is the third time this season the Pirates have been shut out.
Seton Hall falls to 46-38 all-time against Connecticut.
