Prendergast Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall senior Zach Prendergast (Horsham, Pa.) was named to the BIG EAST Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Prendergast was instrumental in the Pirates salvaging the final game of the 2017 Cox Diamond Invitational in Pensacola, Fla. over the weekend. The right-handed starter went longer against South Alabama than any other Seton Hall starter so far this season, going 7.0 innings and allowing just two runs. He also struck out four batters and walked only one to improve to 2-0 on the young season.
Georgetown's Michael DeRenzi was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. St. John's Ryan McAuliffe was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week. Those joining Prendergast on the Honor Roll include: Georgetown's Jimmy Swad, St. John's Josh Shaw, Villanova's Todd Czinege and Xavier's Joe Gellenbeck.
The Pirates will return to action on Tuesday, March 7 when they travel to DeLand, Fla. for the first of two mid-week contests at Stetson University. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
