
Relays Shine at Patriot Invite

Fairfax, Va. – The Seton Hall women's swimming & diving team won the 800 free relay and finished fourth out of nine competing institutions at the 2018 Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason.
Senior Courtney McCardle (Hurley, N.Y.), freshman Heidi Dickson (Greenwich, N.J.), junior Gabby Van Tassell (Staten Island, N.Y.), and junior Sara Ouellette (Granby, Conn.) completed the 800 free relay in an impressive 7:36.11 to take gold.
The quartet of juniors Jordan Decker (Mason, Ohio), Clara Capone (West Hartford, Conn.), Grace Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.), and McCardle took third in the 200 free relay after clocking in at 1:35.00.
Ouellete later placed third in the 200 back (2:01.00), and eighth in the 500 free after touching the wall in 5:04.77. McCardle also finished fifth in the 50 free (23.65), third in the 200 free (1:51.74), and fourth in the 100 free (51.69).
In the 200 IM, junior Elizabeth Sargent (Trumbull, Conn.) took fifth with a time of 2:05.85, and sophomore Amelia Wootton (Bethel, Conn.) finished 12th after clocking a 2:07.78.
Juniors Theresa Hutton (Stony Point, N.Y.), Jordan Decker (Mason, Ohio), Sargent, and Capone finished sixth in the 200 medley relay after swimming a 1:45.57.
Hutton also finished sixth in the 100 back (56.76) and 200 back (2:03.14), while sophomore Julie Stankiewicz (Metuchen, N.J.) took ninth in the 100 back with a 57.06.
In the 100 breast, sophomore Alexa Kolodgie (Baltimore, Md.) and junior Jordan Decker (Mason, Ohio) placed 11th and 12th, respectively, with times of 1:05.70 and 1:06.32. Kolodgie later finished second in the 200 breast after swimming a 2:19.89.
Looking ahead, the Pirates return to action on Saturday, Jan. 12 at Yale at 1 p.m. before returning home on Jan. 13 to take on Fairfield at 3 p.m. inside Richie Regan Rec Center.
