Gregor Tait Named BIG EAST Men's Golfer of the Week

NEW YORK – Seton Hall freshman Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) was named BIG EAST Men's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.
Tait shot a 1-under-par, 71, in the final round to claim the individual championship of the 2018 UNCG / Martin Downs Collegiate. Tait was dominant, shooting under par in all three rounds to win his first collegiate individual title in only his sixth career tournament. He became the first Seton Hall golfer to win a title since Lloyd Jefferson Go claimed the Princeton Invitational last spring, and only the 11th Pirate to win an individual title all-time.
Tait's strong performance helped Seton Hall to a second place team finish, just two strokes behind the team champion, West Virginia. Despite falling short, Seton Hall's three-day effort was historic. It finished with an 11-under-par, 287-281-285-853, which is the lowest par-72, three-round score in Pirate history. Furthermore, The Hall's 11-under-par score ties for the most strokes under par ever at Seton Hall.
Tait and the rest of the Pirates will return to the links this weekend for three rounds of golf at the Loyola Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz., Feb. 25-26.
