Ricky DeVito Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall sophomore Ricky DeVito (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Making only his second career start, DeVito turned in a strong performance against former BIG EAST rival Pittsburgh on Saturday. The right-hander scattered just three hits over six scoreless innings as the Pirates were able to salvage the final game of a three-game series against three different opponents in Spartanburg, S.C. DeVito struck out a career-high seven batters and walked only two in a no decision.
Xavier's Joe Gellenbeck was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while St. John's Sean Mooney was named Pitcher of the Week. Those joining DeVito on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Butler's Garrett Christman, Creighton's Michael Emodi, St. John's Anthony Brocato and Xavier's Trey Schramm.
DeVito and the rest of the Pirates will return to action next weekend when it begins its Spring Break trip with the Kissimmee Irish Classic. The Hall will start out with Seattle University on Friday with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
