Del Castillo Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall sophomore Christian Del Castillo (Miami, Fla.) was named to the BIG EAST Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Del Castillo led Seton Hall in batting last week with a .467 average. The outfielder hit safely in all four games, collecting two hits in three of the four contests. On Wednesday against Saint Peter's, Del Castillo reached base three times, going 2-for-3 with a walk. On Friday at Oklahoma State, he had the best game of his young career. Del Castillo reached base three times, going 2-for-4 with his first career home run, a walk, two runs scored and three RBIs. Against Missouri State on Saturday, he went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Creighton's Michael Emodi was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Butler's Connor Mitchell earned Pitcher of the Week recognition. Those joining Del Castillo on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Butler's Tyler Houston, Creighton's Ryan Tapani, Georgetown's Austin Shirley and Xavier's Ryan Altenberger.
Del Castillo and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Wednesday, March 21 when they host Lafayette at Owen T. Carroll Field. First pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
