DeVito Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Seton Hall sophomore Ricky DeVito (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
DeVito continued his dominant spring with six shutout innings against Villanova on Saturday. The right-hander scattered just three hits and struck out a career-high nine batters with only three walks. The victory improved DeVito to 3-1 on the season and his performance lowers his ERA to a miniscule 1.66.
It's the second straight week that DeVito has been honored by the BIG EAST. Last week, he was named conference Pitcher of the Week.
St. John's Wyatt Mascarella was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Creighton's Ryan Tapani earned Pitcher of the Week recognition. Those joining DeVito on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Butler's Gehrig Parker, Xavier's Damien Richard and both Ryan Davis and Brent Killam of Georgetown.
DeVito and the rest of the Pirates will return to action tomorrow, May 1 when they host local rival Saint Peter's at Owen T. Carroll Field. First pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
