How it Happened
- Seton Hall hurler Reganne Camp (Bloomington, Ill.) and PC starter Megan McCune traded zeroes through the first four innings before The Hall broke the ice in the bottom of the fifth
- With two on and one away in the fifth, Alyssa Prukop (Coto de Caza, Calif.) was called on as a pinch-hitter and delivered a two-run double to the gap to give The Hall a 2-0 lead
- The Hall's lead was short-lived, as PC's Mackensie Compton smacked a two-run home run to right in the top of the sixth to pull the contest even at 2-2
- After Camp pitched around a two-out single in the top of the seventh, The Hall found a winner in the bottom of the frame
- Allender reached base on a wild pitch after a strikeout with one away, then moved to third after a Providence error
- With two on and two away, Barracato delivered her game-winning knock through the left side to bring home Allender and give the Pirates a 3-2 victory
- The Pirates came up with the win despite being out-hit 8-5 and committing three errors versus one for Providence
- Camp was able to pitch out of trouble all day, stranding 10 PC baserunners
- The sophomore hurler held Providence 4-for-19 (.211) with runners on base and 1-for-7 (.143) with runners in scoring position
- Overall on the day, Camp went 7.0 innings and allowed two runs on eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts
- Camp improved to 7-6 on the year after her ninth complete game of the season
- Five different Pirates recorded one hit in the win, while Allender scored two of SHU's three runs
- Ragen Reddick (Middlesex, N.J.) and Brianna Wallace (Fort Worth, Texas) both had a stolen base in the triumph
- The contest featured only two extra-base hits; Compton's home run and Prukop's double
- The Pirates improve to 31-29 all-time against Providence after taking two of three this weekend
- The Hall has won four of its last five home games against PC in walk-off fashion
- Barracato becomes the third Pirate to notch a walk-off hit this year, joining Emily Supercynski yesterday and Sara Foster back on Feb. 23
- Alexis Walkden (Cibolo, Texas) singled in the first inning and has reached base safely in 11-straight outings
- The stolen base for Wallace was her 12th of the season and the 35th of her career, moving into a tie for ninth in Seton Hall history
The Hall will take a brief jaunt out of BIG EAST play on Tuesday, April 10 when it heads to Hofstra for a 4 p.m. midweek contest.
