Dadona Named to Academic All-District Team

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall senior Rob Dadona (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District 2 Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Dadona has been one of the truly "feel-good" stories of the 2018 season for the Pirates. After spending three years as a part-time player, he has blossomed as Seton Hall's everyday second baseman as a senior. Named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on April 24, he currently leads The Hall, and ranks sixth in the BIG EAST Conference with a .338 batting average. Leading the team with 15 multi-hit games this season, Dadona also has a career-highs with three home runs, 21 runs scored, 21 RBIs and 15 walks.
For his efforts, he was named Seton Hall's Breakthrough Athlete of the Year.
In the classroom, Dadona is a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star and recently was the recipient of an Academic Merit Award. Though his four-year career, he has maintained an impressive 3.70 grade point average.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.
Dadona and the rest of the Pirates will return to action later today when they open a three-game series against local BIG EAST rival St. John's at Owen T. Carroll Field. First pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
