The Pirate offense erupted for 12 runs and 17 hits with Alescio, Molina and Dana providing the fireworks. Molina went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored. Alescio had a three-run home run and a hit-by-pitch. Dana had a three-run home run and a walk.
Seton Hall starter Ricky DeVito (Staten Island, N.Y.) was nearly perfect in his four innings of work, allowing just one hit, while striking out four.
Seton Hall's bats broke out in the top of the third inning. Christian Del Castillo (Miami, Fla.) and Rob Dadona (Staten Island, N.Y.) led off with back-to-back singles. After a sacrifice bunt by Sebastiano Santorelli (Tuckahoe, N.Y.) moved them both into scoring position, an infield single by Al Molina (Freehold, N.J.) drove in the first run of the game. Alescio then broke the game open with a three-run home run over the left-center field fence to give The Hall a 4-0 lead.
In the top of the fifth inning with one out, Molina belted a solo home run over the left field fence to extend the Pirates' advantage to 5-0.
After Georgetown pushed across their first run of the game against reliever Billy Layne, Jr. (Cliffwood Beach, N.J.), The Hall's offense went back to work in the top of the sixth inning. With two outs and the bases loaded, Santorelli delivered a two-run single through the right side to put Seton Hall up, 7-1. The Pirates never looked back.
