LAS VEGAS – The Seton Hall softball team (1-3) continued play at the 2019 Marucci Desert Classic on Saturday, dropping a pair of contests. The Hall fell to Utah Valley and Long Beach State in its third and fourth games at UNLV's Eller Media Stadium.

Game 1 – Utah Valley 11, Seton Hall 3 (Six Innings)
How it Happened
- The Pirates took an early 1-0 lead courtesy of a Jaden Tate (Las Vegas, Nev.) RBI triple
- The Hall doubled its advantage with an RBI single from Emily Supercynski (Aurora, Colo.) in the top of the third, but UVU leveled the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the frame
- The Wolverines than scored three more in the bottom of the fourth to take their first lead
- The Pirates got a run back when Destini Peck (Riverside, Calif.) notched an RBI single in the top of the fifth, but UVU would go on to score six times in the bottom of the sixth to enact the run-rule
- The Hall was out-hit 15-8 in the setback and committed the game's lone error
- Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) and Supercynski both had two hits in the contest
- The Pirates finished with three extra base hits – triples from Baylee Allender (Rosharon, Texas) and Tate and an Arteaga double
- Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.) notched a stolen base for the Pirates
Game 2 – Long Beach State 11, Seton Hall 2 (Six Innings)
- LBSU got on the board with two runs in the top of the second, then piled on five more in the third to take a 7-0 advantage
- Allender scored on an RBI groundout in the bottom of the third for SHU's first run
- In the fifth the Pirates struck again, with Pandolfo doubling and eventually scoring on the back-end of a double steal
- Long Beach would go on to put the game away with three runs in the top of the sixth and a shutdown bottom of the frame
- The Hall was out-hit 12-2 and committed two errors against one by LBSU
- Allender and Pandolfo recorded the two hits for the Pirates
