Pirates Close Run in Vegas With Win Over UND

LAS VEGAS – The Seton Hall softball team (2-3) bounced back from an early hole to pick up a 6-4 win over North Dakota (1-4) on the final day of the 2019 Marucci Desert Classic.
Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) and Emily Supercynski (Aurora, Colo.) both knocked in two runs for the Pirates to back a complete game performance from Reganne Camp (Bloomington, Ill.) in the circle. Camp allowed only a single earned run and struck out eight to improve to 2-1 on the season.
How It Happened
The Pirates will head to Denton, Texas next weekend to take part in the Mean Green Calssic hosted by North Texas.

How It Happened
- North Dakota jumped out to an early lead with a four-spot in the top of the first
- The Hall got it all back with a crooked inning in the bottom of the third, scoring five times
- Janae Barracato (Hempstead, N.Y.) pushed across the first run with an RBI single, then Arteaga and Supercysnki each recorded two-run base knocks to put the Pirates ahead 5-4
- Camp cruised through the middle innings, and managed to work her way out of trouble in the top of the sixth by coming up with a bases-loaded, inning-ending strikeout
- Allender cracked a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to give the Pirates an insurance run which was all Camp needed to close out the contest in a complete game performance
- The Pirates out-hit the Fighting Hawks 7-4 in the win
- Arteaga and Barracato both notched multi-hit efforts for the Pirates
- Camp's complete game was the 21st of the junior's career
- With eight strikeouts, Camp became the 10th pitcher in Seton Hall history to hit the 200 career strikeout milestone
- Camp held UND batters 2-for-19 (.105) with runners on base
- The home run for Allender was the second of her career
- The contest marked the first meeting between Seton Hall and North Dakota
