Yeom Leading the Way at Rutherford Intercollegiate

STATE COLLEGE, PA. – Senior Chris Yeom (Flushing, N.Y.) is only 2-over-par for the tournament to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to a sixth place standing at a highly competitive Rutherford Intercollegiate entering Sunday's final round.

Yeom currently leads the Pirates with a 2-over-par, 73-71-144, and is tied for 14th place among 78 individual golfers. He trails the individual leader, Rutgers' Christopher Gotterup by six strokes with 18 holes left to play.

As a team, the Pirates shaved seven strokes off the team score in the second round. The Hall fired an 11-over-par, 295, in round one, but was only 4-over-par in round two. Through 36 holes, Seton Hall is 15-over-par with a 295-288-583. It trails the team leader, Eastern Michigan, by 17 strokes entering the final round. The Pirates' lone BIG EAST competition, Georgetown, is currently 26-over-par in ninth place.

Andres Acevedo (San Antonio, Texas) had a highly consistent Saturday. The sophomore fired a pair of 2-over-par, 73's, and is currently 4-over-par with a 73-73-146. Only one stroke behind Acevedo is senior Gen Nagai (Mandaue Cebu City, Philippines). Nagai had only one additional stroke in round one and is currently 5-over-par with a 74-73-147.

Sophomore Gregor Tait (Martlesham Heath, England) shaved seven strokes off his first round score in the afternoon. Tait had a 7-over-par, 78, in the morning, but soared up the leader board with an even-par, 71, in round two. For the tournament, he is 7-over-par with a 78-71-149.

Freshman Deven Ramachandran (San Rafael, Calif.) is currently 9-over-par after a 75-76-151 on Saturday.

Competing as an individual, freshman Peter Tyler Po (Nasipit Cebu City, Philippines) is currently tied for 35th place overall with a 6-over-par, 72-76-148.
