
Arteaga Named NFCA All-Region

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Seton Hall softball standout Hailey Arteaga (Upland, Calif.) has earned a Division I All-Region accolade, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced Thursday (May 16). Arteaga is a Second Team NFCA All-Region selection in the Mideast region after her stellar junior season.
Arteaga is one of 392 players across Division I to earn All-Region honors and one of five BIG EAST student-athletes to pick up a nod. Her selection is the 23rd NFCA All-Region accolade in Seton Hall program history and the fourth since 2015. The Hall's most recent nods went to Lauren Fischer and Alexis Walkden, both in 2017.
This senior the junior Californian was one of the most productive players in the BIG EAST and turned in one of the finest offensive campaigns in Seton Hall history. The First Team All-Conference selection batted .408 on the season, becoming only the second player in SHU history to hit .400 or better over the course of a campaign. Arteaga got on base at .448 clip and slugged .651, finishing the season with a stellar 1.099 OPS. She added 17 doubles, 30 runs scored, a triple, six home runs and 38 RBIs over 47 starts. Arteaga also played a terrific defensive left field, recording 48 putouts and not committing an error.
Arteaga's huge offensive season made a significant mark on the SHU record book.
