The Hall Opens 2019 Campaign vs. CCSU on Friday

WHIPPANY, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team will make its 2019 season debut on Friday when it hosts Central Connecticut State University at the Red Bulls Training Facility in Whippany, N.J. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

After leading the Pirates to six wins in his first season at the helm, head coach Andreas Lindberg begins year two of his tenure at Seton Hall.
The Pirates return 15 letterwinners who saw game action a season ago, including five starters. Among those returning is 2018 Second Team All-Conference selection CJ Tibbling (Jarna, Sweden), who led The Hall with six goals and 14 points.
The Hall added three transfers from ACC programs. Torbjorn Alseth (Trondheim, Norway) transferred from Duke University, Stephen Elias (Rye, N.Y.) transferred from NC State University, Sean MacLeod (Troon, Scotland) transferred from the University of Notre Dame.
Seton Hall enters Friday's game with an all-time record of 36-35-9 in their season opener.
The Pirates will play early season home matches the Red Bulls Training Facility in Whippany, N.J. while construction nears completion on the renovated Owen T. Carroll Field.

PIRATES ADD COACHES SIMMONS, SOLLI

Ali Simmons was an assistant coach for the 2018 Division II national champions at Barry University, and an assistant for the 2017 Division II national champions at the University of Charleston in West Virginia.
Dan Solli has served as a season staff coach with Red Bull New York since 2012. He has also coached in the collegiate ranks, serving as an assistant women's coach at Fordham and the College of Mount Saint Vincent.

AGAINST CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE
This will be only the third time in history that Seton Hall and CCSU have met. Last season, The Hall grabbed a 2-1 win in New Britain behind a game-winning goal from Carlton McKenzie (Birmingham, England). Their only prior game was a Pirates' victory 33 years ago. The Hall defeated the Blue Devils, 4-1, on Sept. 10, 1986 in route to an 18-2-2 final record and BIG EAST Championship.

WHAT'S AHEAD
Seton Hall will return to action on Friday, Sept. 6 when it travels to Fort Myers, Fla. for a contest against Florida Gulf Coast. The match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
