Hood named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Senior went 6-for-14 and started at three different positions in a 2-1 weekend for the Pirates
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Senior Connor Hood (Shrewsbury, Pa.) has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week after helping lead the Seton Hall baseball team to a 2-1 weekend in Winston-Salem, N.C. this past weekend, the conference announced Monday.
Hood's stat line finished at 6-for-14 (.429) with five RBI and three runs scored. He registered two multi-hit games and two multi-RBI performances, including a three RBI game in Seton Hall's 10-2 win over Illinois and a three-hit game against Milwaukee.
Hood didn't commit an error at any of his three positions: second base, third base and right field. In the 4-3 loss to then-No. 20 Wake Forest, Hood went 2-for-4. With two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the eighth on Saturday, Seton Hall trailed Illinois 2-1 but Hood delivered with a bases clearing double that put the Pirates ahead, 4-2.
This is Hood's first BIG EAST Player of the Week honor. He was previously named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on April 9, 2018 after going 3-for-5 with five RBI in a doubleheader against Fairleigh Dickinson as a sophomore.
