
Pirates Round Out Florida Spring Break Trip in Clearwater

Clearwater, Fla. – The Seton Hall Softball team will be concluding the second half of their spring break trip when they take part in the Clearwater Spring Break Invitational. The Pirates will face off against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Army West Point, Penn State, Florida A&M and Bowling Green. The Hall will take on Chattanooga and West Point on Friday and Penn State and Florida A&M on Saturday before playing the tournament finale against Bowling Green on Sunday.

The Pirates competed in THE Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Fla., taking two of the five games. Seton Hall picked up wins over South Alabama in an offensive showdown on day one and Sacred Heart thanks in part to a Kelsey Gumm (Spokane, Wash.) one-hit, complete game shutout on day two.
SCOUTING – (5-10) UT CHATTANOOGA (3/6 – 12 p.m.)
The Pirates will return home to the friendly confines of Mike Sheppard Sr. Field to take on Rutgers in the team's home-opener on Tuesday, March 8.

- Claire Swedberg lead Penn State with a .310 average while Kaitlyn Morrison leads the team with 18 hits.

- The Lady Rattlers are coming of a 2-1 trip in the Mississippi State Valley University Softball Tournament.
- FAMU has played six games against ranked teams this season, #13 Oklahoma State, #11 LSU, #5 Florida State and #8 Florida.
- Tied at one win apiece, the all-time series is split between the Pirates and Lady Rattlers. The last time these two programs met resulted in a Pirate victory, 2-1 on March 15, 2015.
