Dahn Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week; Nota on Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Luca Dahn (Kahl, Germany) was named the BIG EAST Conference men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Senior goalkeeper Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) was also awarded a spot on the Honor Roll.

Dahn was an instrumental factor in the Pirates' two conference wins last week. In Wednesday's 1-0 victory over Villanova, Dahn picked up the primary assist on the game's lone goal. The junior also logged all 90 minutes in the shutout.

After going down 1-0 against #13 Providence on Saturday, Dahn found the equalizer for the Pirates with a header to tie things up at one. The goal was Dahn's second of the season. On the backend, Dahn also logged another full 90 to help ensure the Pirate victory, 2-1.

For the second consecutive week, Nota has earned a spot on the conference's Weekly Honor Roll. The senior has been brilliant between the pipes for The Hall this season adding his fourth shutout in the 1-0 victory over Villanova. Nota added two more saves over #13 Providence on Saturday, picking up his third BIG EAST win in the process. Amongst conference ranks, Nota is at the top of the list when it comes to shutouts with three BIG EAST clean sheets to his credit so far this season.

Dahn is the second Pirate to be named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after Paavo Riihijarvi won the award earlier in the year. Nota is the first Pirate to earn multiple weekly conference honors.

Seton Hall will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Queens, N.Y. for a rematch with St. John's. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
