
No. 22 Pirates Travel to Queens, N.Y. for Rematch with Red Storm

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's soccer team will travel to Queen's, N.Y. for a rematch with BIG EAST foe St. John's on Wednesday. The Pirates will look to build upon an unbeaten week at home with wins over Villanova and then-number 13 Providence on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pirates picked up their first win against a ranked opponent since 2017 with a 2-1 victory over Providence. The Hall surrendered the first goal of the match for the first time all season but quickly rebounded with an equalizer from Luca Dahn (Kahl, Germany) a minute later. For his efforts, Dahn was awarded BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors and earned a spot on College Soccer News' National Team of the Week.
JP Marin (Briarwood, N.Y.) picked up the game-winning goal for the Pirates, his first goal of the season, and The Hall improved to 5-1-2 on the season and a perfect 5-0-0 at home. The Pirates also moved into a tie with Georgetown atop the East division with 10 points.

- The Red Storm is coming off a 1-1 week against two ranked opponents. First, the Johnnies took down then-number 13 Providence, 2-1 before falling at #3 Georgetown, 1-0.
- Last season's BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, Tani Oluwaseyi, picked up a goal and an assist in the win over Providence to add to his conference-leading 2.00 point per game average.
- The Pirates picked up the victory the first time against St. John's this season, 1-0 at home. This moved the Pirates' unbeaten streak against St. John's to two, the longest since 1991.
NEWS & NOTES
- The Pirates finds themselves at the #22 spot in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and #18 and #19 in polls from College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer, respectively. This is the first time the Pirates have been ranked nationally since 2006.
- The 5-0 open at home is the best start at Owen T. Carroll Field for the Pirates since 1999 when they started 7-0.
- The Hall leads the BIG EAST in shutouts with five clean sheets on the campaign.
- Senior goalkeeper Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) has been fantastic for the Pirates between the pipes this season. Nota has had a hand in all five Pirate shutouts this season with three of them coming in BIG EAST play, good enough for tops in the` conference. Nota's Goals Allowed Average sits at 0.44 with only three goals allowed in over 600 minutes played this season. With 17 saves to his credit, Nota has been a two-time selection of the conference's Honor Roll this season.
- Seton Hall is currently outscoring its opponents 9-2 in the first half this season. Only once has The Hall not been the first team to score (3/13 vs. Providence). In total on the year, Seton Hall has only trailed a collective 12:25 of game time.
