NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) was awarded a spot on the BIG EAST Conference men's soccer Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Nota was in net for both of Seton Hall's conference matchups last week. The senior picked up four saves against then-number 5/1 Georgetown in a tough road setback for the Pirates, 2-1 in overtime. He would respond with a shutout in a 0-0 draw at Connecticut on Saturday to round out the Pirates' road trip.
Nota was able to hold the Huskies off the scoreboard while picking up three saves in the process. The shutout for Nota was his third of the season, he also played a part in a combined shutout against Fairleigh Dickinson earlier in the season.
The Pirates have now been included in the conference's weekly honors three consecutive weeks.
Butler's Wilmer Cabrera, Jr. was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while Providence's Rimi Olatunji repeated as Goalkeeper of the Week. Musa Qongo of Creighton earned defensive honors and Providence's Gevork Diarbian was the Freshman of the Week.
Seton Hall will look to remain undefeated at home this season when they host Villanova on Wednesday at Owen T. Carroll Field. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
