Five Pirates Named to All-BIG EAST Teams

NEW YORK – The Seton Hall men's soccer team had five Pirates named to All-BIG EAST Teams the conference announced on Wednesday. The five members selected to all-conference teams is tied for the highest total in program history when the Pirates also had five All-BIG EAST honorees in 2005. The league's head coaches choose the all-conference squads and are not permitted to vote for their own players.
Highlighting the selections for the Pirates are two All-BIG EAST First Team members in CJ Tibbling (Jarna, Sweden) and Luca Dahn (Kahl, Germany). Tibbling led the Pirates in scoring this season with nine points and four goals which both ranked top-10 in the conference. The All-BIG EAST recognition is the second for Tibbling as he was a member of the conference's second team in 2018.
Dahn was an anchor for the Pirates defensively, playing in all 11 games and 1051 of 1061 minutes for the Pirates this season. The Germany-native was also a force for the Pirates on the offensive end scoring twice for The Hall and picking up an assist along the way. After his equalizer in the win against then-No. 13 Providence, along with his stellar play defensively, Dahn was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on March 15.
After a solid season between the posts for The Hall, goalkeeper Andreas Nota (Rome, Italy) was awarded a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team. The senior is in the midst of a historic campaign in net for the Pirates as he on pace to break the Seton Hall single-season record for Goals Against Average at 0.597, good enough for sixth in the nation amongst keepers who have played in at least 10 games. With five shutouts to his credit, Nota was a three-time member of the conference's weekly honor roll throughout the season.
Rounding out the Pirates' all-conference selections with Third Team honors are JP Marin (Briarwood, N.Y.) and Johannes Pex (Stephansposching, Germany). Marin served as a playmaker for the Pirates on the attack with eight points on two goals and four assists. After picking up three assists over the course of back-to-back shutout victories over Fairleigh Dickinson and St. John's, Marin was awarded a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll. Marin also scored the game-winning goal over then-No. 13 Providence before converting a penalty kick for the opening goal and assisting on the game-winner at St. John's on March 17.
Pex made his presence on the Pirates felt immediately with two goals in The Hall's season opener at NJIT. The sophomore has played every minute of BIG EAST action for the Pirates helping lead the team to four blank sheets in-conference.
