Omaha, Neb. – Despite home runs from Abby Wingo (Portland, Ore.) and Darby Pandolfo (Massapequa, N.Y.), the Seton Hall softball team dropped its doubleheader with Creighton on Saturday.

Game One

How it Happened

The Pirates got on the board first as Wingo picked up her first home run of the season, a two-run shot to left center in the second to put The Hall ahead, 2-0.
Creighton would respond with three runs in their own half of the inning to go up, 3-2.
Shelby Smith (Friendswood, Texas) singled home a run in the third to tie things at three.
The Bluejays would score three runs in the third on a three-run home run to retake the lead, 6-3.
The Pirates would get a run back in the fifth when Pandolfo went deep for her third long ball of the season, 6-4.
Creighton would put the game out of reach with three more runs in the sixth for a final score of 9-4.

Notes and Numbers

The home run for Wingo was the first of her career.
Smith struck out 12 Bluejay batters, tying her career high and the most for a Pirate this season.
The home run for Pandolfo was the 20^th of her career which puts her in a tie for eighth place in program history.
Lela Allen (Phoenix, Ariz.) picked up a double in game one, her first in a short career as a Pirate.
Six different Pirates got into the hit column.

How it Happened

The Bluejays had the long ball working for them in game two, picking up three home runs that accounted for all five of their runs through the first six innings.
The Hall would show fight in the visiting-half o the seventh capped off by a Smith RBI single, but it wasn't enough to overcome the five run deficit.
