Hack posts an outfield assist and an RBI single in the loss
Chapel Hill, N.C. — Sophomore Zack Sylvester (Montville, N.J.) and junior Devin Hack (Somerville, N.J.) both posted multi-hit games but the Seton Hall baseball team fell to North Carolina, 7-3, to conclude the three-game series on Sunday.
Sylvester and Hack both crossed the plate for the Pirates as did senior Steve Grober (Hillsborough, N.J.) who went 1-for-4.
How It Happened
Similar to series opener, the Pirates struck first. In the top of the second, Grober reached on a one-out single and moved to third after Oscar Murray (Brentwood, Calif.) and a single by Sylvester.
With two strikes, Hack drove Grober in on a single up the middle, giving The Hall a 1-0 lead.
The Tar Heels responded with three runs each in the third and fourth and tacked on another in the fifth to take a 7-1 lead. Sophomore Drew Conover (Pittstown, N.J.) worked a scoreless sixth inning of relief and the Pirates pushed two more runs across in the seventh inning that made it 7-3 but it wasn't enough as North Carolina completed the series sweep.
