How it Happened
For the second straight game, Kelsey Carr (Ridgewood, N.Y.) got the Pirates' offense started with a home run. Her drive out to the opposite field gave Seton Hall the early 1-0 edge. Later on after Georgetown took the lead thanks to three runs across the third and fourth innings, Carr made her impact felt again by crushing her second home run of the game and her third over the last two days.

Seton Hall starting pitcher Kyra Kreuscher (Great River, N.Y.) worked a clean fifth inning, keeping the Pirates down just a run heading into the sixth. The Pirates would mount a threat in the frame, placing two runners in scoring position for Erin Howard (Skillman, N.J.). The sophomore catcher got out ahead of a pitch and sailed it over the left field wall for a go-ahead three-run homer.

Carr would come on to pitch in the sixth, retiring the side in order. However, the Hoyas would tie things up in the seventh on a two-out home run from Naya Campos to level the score at 5-5.
In the ninth, Carr would propel The Hall back in front after an RBI single. Soon after, Taylor Hill (Little Falls, N.J.) would come home from third on a passed ball, giving the Pirates another two-run lead at 7-5. Georgetown would fight back once again, hitting two sacrifice flies to tie the score back up at 7-7.
In the 10th inning, the Pirates would put the game to bed. Lela Allen (Phoenix, Ariz.) opened the inning with a double and would come around to score on an Andrea Perez (Corona, Calif.) single to give Seton Hall the lead. Olivia Gilbert (Johnston, R.I.) and Katey Brennan (Yardley, Pa.) would add some insurance, each bringing home two runs on hits to stretch the lead to 12-7.
Georgetown would put two runners aboard in the 10th, but Carr would work her way out of the jam to secure the win. Perez would seal the victory with a great running catch in foul territory down the left field line.
