SCOUTING FIU
SERIES HISTORY
LAST TIME OUT
- The Pirates played host to the No. 14 Georgetown Hoyas in a key matchup for the Pirates' potential BIG EAST Tournament hopes.
- The first half between the two sides was an even affair, with both teams having scoring chances. However, neither side was ultimately able to get the ball past either keeper. In the second half, the Hoyas turned up the pressure on the Pirates, shutting their offense out from even registering a shot across the final 45 minutes. Seton Hall's defense, however, put up a titanic effort to prevent the Hoyas from collecting a single goal, ending the match in a 0-0 draw.
- With the draw, the Pirates ended a five-match losing streak against Georgetown.
SCOUTING FIU
- After going 1-1-0 last week, FIU is 5-4-2 on the season.
- The Panthers fell 2-1 away at No. 1 Portland before defeating Temple at home 3-1 over the weekend.
- Entering the season, FIU was picked to finish second in the American Conference with 47 points and one first-place vote.
- For the Panthers, three players landed on the Preseason All-Conference teams: defenders João Domíngues and Owen Travis, as well as forward Eduardo Mustre. While Mustre has tallied three goals this season, it is junior Pasquale Capriati who leads the team in both goals (4) and points (11).
- In net for FIU is junior Nigel Van Haveren from the Netherlands. Van Haveren has started 10 of the Panthers' 11 games, logging a 1.20 GAA with an American Conference-leading 35 saves on the year.
