PREVIEWING PROVIDENCE
- So far this season, Georgetown is 10-13 overall, 3-6 in BIG EAST play, with wins over Delaware, St. John's, Villanova and Drexel.
- The Hoyas are already on pace to beat their 2025 results, when they finished 11-32 overall and 2-22 in conference play.
- While eight of their nine starters are hitting .282 or better, the stars of Georgetown's offense have been Dayanara Campos, Emily Strittmatter and Brooke Rebhan. All three are hitting .325 or better, while each leads a different statistical category for the team: Campos with her eight home runs, Campos with her 20 runs scored and Rebhan with her 17 RBI.
- At the heart of the Hoyas' success this season has been their rotation. Through 23 games, with an ERA of 3.63, the Hoyas are only one of two BIG EAST teams to have a sub-3.70 ERA on the season. As a result, Georgetown's three starters : Marina Egbert (3.33 ERA), Emily Collins (3.44) and Catherine Larson (3.79) hold the second, fifth and sixth-lowest ERAs in the conference, respectively.
- The Pirates entered the season on the precipice of 1000 wins in program history. As of now, Seton Hall has 995 all-time wins, dating back to the 1976 season.
- With four BIG EAST series to go, The Hall has a 3-9 record in conference play after playing the top four teams by record at this time. However, with the conference reducing the BIG EAST Championships to four teams, the Pirates will need a clean run to the end of the season. Last year, the fourth-place team finished with a conference record of 15-9.
- For the first time since 2013, the Pirates claimed a series win over the UConn Huskies earlier this season.
- Stepping into the leadoff spot this season, Angelina Benitez has been a key cog to the Pirates' offensive game plan. The sophomore is hitting a team-leading .406 with 43 hits at the plate, both top ten in the conference, with the most runs scored on the team (24) and second-most RBI (19).
- At first base, Sophia DeMarco has filled in perfectly since taking over the position from single-season RBI record holder Olivia Gilbert this season. So far this season, DeMarco is hitting .356 with both a team-leading six home runs and 29 RBI, the final of which ranks seventh in the conference.
- After recording two hits in her first 16 at-bats this season, Andrea Perez has been on fire at the plate. The senior shortstop has hit .435 with 17 RBI since that point. In BIG EAST play, she holds the second-best batting average on the team with a mark of .395 through 12 games.
- After struggling to start the season, junior Karissa Dupuis has been the Pirates' best pitcher in conference play. Across her eight appearances and seven starts, DuPuis has a 5.86 ERA with a 3-3 record in 34.2 innings pitched.
