Women's Soccer Hosts FDU in Season Opener on Sunday Night

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's soccer team opens the 2026 season on Sunday night when it hosts FDU at Owen T. Carroll Field. Kickoff is slated for just after 6 p.m. with live coverage available on ESPN+.

The Pirates will be seeking to win their season opener for the third consecutive season, adding on a 3-1 win over Monmouth last season and a 2-1 triumph over Marist to open the 2024 campaign. Seton Hall is looking to go unbeaten through three straight season openers since 2011-14 when it capped off a 2-0-1 stretch.

Josh Osit enters his fifth season at the helm of the Seton Hall women's soccer program.
Osit and the Pirates welcome back 15 members of last year's squad, including leading goal-scorer Gianna Angelillo.
Angelillo found the back of the net six times in her first season in South Orange after transferring in from Louisville before an injury cut her season short in early October.
Nina Davis also returns for the Pirates off an injury, having appeared in 27 matches over her first two seasons in South Orange.
Seton Hall welcomes in 11 newcomers to the 2026 squad, comprising of seven transfers and four freshmen.
Two of the Pirate transfers come from fellow BIG EAST programs, with Kileigh Gorman coming over from UConn and Macie Mietz transferring from Butler.
Sabrina Campbell (Temple), Gianna Delgado (Rutgers) Kaylin Mallon (Kentucky), Tuva Norell (Saint Peter's) and Shaina Sackett (Rutgers-Newark) also transferred to The Hall ahead of this season.
As one set of twins graduated out of the program last season in Grace and Sarah Mitchell, a new pair of twins joins the Pirates starting this fall.
Lydia and Nicole Proia each hail from Natick High School in Natick, Mass. where they each had decorated careers.
Lydia scored 37 goals and doled out 43 assists over her four years, while Nicole scored 51 goals and was a 2025 United Soccer Coaches High School All-American.
The Proia sisters won two state titles at Natick in 2023 and 2025.
Joining the Proia sisters in the freshman class is Maddie DiBartolo (Commack, N.Y.) and Olivia Trojanowski (Massapequa, N.Y.).
